US5Gx Inputs

US5Gx input module

The Input modules are plugged into the IOP cards.

All input functions operate in the IOP modules and both have access to the same reference signal. The US5G (a/e/m) bridges each input to both IOP modules.

The US5G (a/e) can be equipped with 10 bridged input ports (5 for US5Gm). Each input port is independently software configurable for standard signal frequencies as follows:
•  DS-1 1.544MBit/s, Framing selectable – SF or ESF
•  E-1 2.048MBit/s (ITU-T G.703, G.704 : CRC-4, CAS16)
•  2.048 MHz (ITU-T G.703 § 13)
•  Composite Clock,
•  1/5/10 MHz.

Phase build out is standard for all input types except for Composite Clock.

DS-1 inputs may be configured in software for either D-4 or Extended Super Frame(ESF).

E-1 2.048MBit/s may be configured in software for either CRC-4 MFM or not.

Each input is monitored (when it applies) for LOS, AIS, OOF, BPV, CRC and SSM messages in the Facility Data Link (FDL) channel (i.e. G704 signals monitoring for ITU-T recommendations).
